ولن ترضى عنك اليهود ولا النصارى | [88] قوله تعالى: {وَلَنْ تَرْضَى عَنْكَ الْيَهُودُ وَلَا النَّصَارَى حَتَّى تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ..}

This is because the Jews of Medina and the Christians of Najran were in the hope that the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, will remain praying to their qiblah	And the Jews will not be pleased with thee, nor will the Christiansﾅ [2:120]
As a result, it was no use trying to appease them	But Ibn Abbas said: ﾓThis was revealed regarding the qiblah

معنى ولن ترضى عنك اليهود ولا النصارى

Islamic Monotheism that is the only guidance.

وَلَن تَرْضَى عَنكَ الْيَهُودُ وَلَا النَّصَارَى حَتَّى تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ: " Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah
جواب شبهة حول قوله تعالى ولن ترضى عنك اليهود..: For unless the Muslims were prepared to assume the attitude and orientation of the Jews and to follow all their errors in belief and practice, there was no question of their being able to bring about any reconciliation with them
{وَلَن تَرْضَى عَنكَ اليَهودُ وَلاَ النَّصَارَى حَتَّى تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ هدَى اللّهِ هوَ الهُدَى...} البقرة120: " yang akan menghindarkanmu dari bahaya

Say: "Verily, the guidance of Allah i	Islamic Monotheism that is the only guidance is, "A true argument that Allah taught Muhammad and his Companions and which they used against the people of misguidance
Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you O Muhammad till you follow their religion	Although the speech in this Ayah was directed at the Messenger, the ruling of which applies to his entire Ummah

The real cause of their unhappiness was that he had not resorted to hypocrisy and trickery, in regard to religious matters, that unlike them he did not pursue self-interest and self-indulgence under the fagade of godliness and piety, that he did not twist religious principles and injunctions without scruple, as the Jews were wont to do in order to make them suit their desires and fancies, that he did not resort to the chicanery and duplicity which characterized the religious life of the Jews	Although the speech in this Ayah was directed at the Messenger, the ruling of which applies to his entire Ummah

ولن ترضى عنك اليهود ولا النصارى حتى تتَّبع ملتهم

And so Allah, exalted is He, revealed this verseﾔ.

وَلَن تَرْضَى عَنكَ الْيَهُودُ وَلَا النَّصَارَى حَتَّى تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ: Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion
{وَلَن تَرْضَى عَنكَ اليَهودُ وَلاَ النَّصَارَى حَتَّى تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ هدَى اللّهِ هوَ الهُدَى...} البقرة120: The cause of their disconcertment with the Prophet peace be on him was not that they were earnest seekers after the Truth which the Prophet had failed to make clear to them
تأملات في قوله تعالى: {ولن ترضى عنك اليهود ولا النصارى}: Sesungguhnya, jika 'lam' menunjukkan sumpah kamu ikuti keinginan mereka yakni apa-apa yang mereka anjurkan setelah datangnya pengetahuan kepadamu maksudnya wahyu dari Allah maka Allah tidak lagi menjadi pelindung yang akan melindungimu dan tidak pula menolong
